Regis Broking Ltd (RBL) is an specialist entity that was created to bring together all of our insurance and reinsurance broking activities. This includes broking services for new and existing mutuals and their members, as well as conventional third-party business which is non-mutual related.

Whilst our central London location ensures quick access to the London markets, we also work with a number of overseas-based insurers, providing choice and flexibility to our clients.

The mutuals managed by Regis need access to the insurance and reinsurance markets for external capacity at the individual member or mutual level. Regis Broking assists by controlling negotiations with capacity providers to ensure that the best deal is structured. Additionally, Regis Broking provides broking services to mutual members who require additional classes of insurance that are outside the scope or risk appetite of a specific mutual.
When groups of customers are considering setting up a mutual but require a conventional brokered scheme or facility as an interim step, Regis Broking can facilitate this. This “incubation period” also helps to stress test the viability of a prospective Mutual.

My career started at Sun Alliance and London, and following several years with Stewart Wrightson. I joined Bain Hogg where I became an Executive Director of their International Construction Division. After a three-year secondment in Italy, I set up Special Risks Insurance Brokers with offices in Milan, Rome and London. In 2003, I was part of the management group that provided the seed investment for EOS Insurance Co in Greece.
As Managing Director of Brian Johnston and Co (Insurance Brokers) Limited, I led the bid team that successfully tendered for the NHS Framework Agreement. After a short period at Uniitas, I joined Regis Mutual Management Limited in 2014.
My career began at C.E Heath, and my linguistic skills led to early overseas management roles at ‘Nasco Karaoglan’ in Saudi Arabia and ‘Wigham Poland’ in Switzerland. In 1988, I was appointed M. D. of Lloyds broker, ‘Ian McCall International.’ After ten years I joined the Board of SBJ, where I grew the Swiss portfolio to become Lloyds’ largest producer of direct insurance from this territory. After five years as M.D. of the European Division of Dashwood Brewer & Phipps, and a period as M.D. of Kinetic, I joined Regis as Broking Manager.
I am Senior Underwriter for all the commercial mutuals that Regis manages.
Having previously worked at Hiscox, Fusion Underwriting and Towergate, I joined Regis to gain experience in different exposures, risks and challenges that mutuals offer.
I have worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years starting at The NFU Mutual and ERS before joining Regis in August 2015 as a senior motor underwriter.
