Path to success – spotlight on inspirational leaders at Regis

We joined Kirsty and Sophia, our fantastic Mutual Managers, to discuss their experiences of working in business.

Sitting round the boardroom table on a beautiful Spring morning, Sophia and Kirsty noted the significant changes that had occurred in the workplace in the last ten years, triggered, they felt, by an increase in a general demand for greater flexibility. When they first entered the job market, requesting flexible working hours, working from home, or leaving early to pick up the children would have been frowned upon, but both agreed that companies that do not offer these benefits are now seen as rather archaic and lagging behind the competition.

Expert spotlight : Christine Cummings, Services Manager for Unimutual

Christine joined the precursor of Unimutual in July 2003 after gaining 12 years experience working in the Risk Management Office at the University of Sydney in the positions of Insurance Claims Officer and then subsequently as Insurance Manager a position which she held for 11 years. Prior to the positions held at the University of Sydney, Christine also held positions within the insurance industry with various insurers and a broker. Christine is currently a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, and a Member of the Risk Management Institute of Australasia.

In 2015 Regis was awarded the contract to manage the Fire and Rescue Authorities Indemnity Mutual. The Mutual was established by 9 fire authorities, the aim was to improve their overall risk management and the way they dealt with the cost of incidents to vehicles and people.

The Retail Mutual celebrates two decades of protecting independent retailers.

2019 sees The Retail Mutual mark its twentieth year of providing an alternative to traditional insurance for independent retailers.

The Retail Mutual began life in 1999 as a small, specialist provider of business cover specifically to retail newsagents. As the sector evolved, so too did the Mutual, expanding first to meet the needs of the wider convenience retail sector before opening its doors in 2017 to the whole spectrum of independent retail shops and service providers on our high streets. Regis Mutual Management has been managing the Mutual since 2007.
